Immelt at the U.S. Naval Academy Spewing Lies
GE Reports ^

Noting that we’re celebrating the Reagan centennial, he praised President Reagan for being both “tough-minded and hopeful,” and also “willing to work with his detractors.” That approach, said Immelt, should also be a model of leadership in the 21st century, which “is about building bigger and diverse teams; teams that accomplish tough missions with a culture of respect.”

My son, MIDN 3/c told me about the Forrestal Lecture last night by Immelt. He was telling them that his hero is Ronald Reagan. What a liar!

When I was a mid the worst Forrestal (known to most a Boreusall) lecture was by Carl Sagan. He proceeded to insult the memory of Forrestal by bringing up his mental problems and suicide as a reason nobody on Earth could be trusted with nuclear weapons. He wanted unilateral disarmament and suggested all of us would then be available for an expanded astronaut corps.

Most boring Forrestal lecture while I was there was Sandra Day O'Connor.

Best lecture while I was there was by Robert Ballard about finding the Titanic.

Immelt called on the midshipmen to tackle with gusto “the three great challenges for your generation: healthcare, energy and infrastructure.”

Where "healthcare" = the implementation of socialized medicine (Obamacare), "energy" = global warming envirowhackoism, and "infrastructure" = engineering a socialist utopia.

Why, of course. That’s why they’re there. To become Naval Officers in the green army, er navy.

It’s the Left’s wet dream — turning the military into social engineers, and the police into the gestapo.

My son graduated the USNA in 2009. It has gotten worse since then.
