Yes. The Balkans was the beginning for the New (Pos-Soviet) NATO. But frankly I can't think of a single NATO action of the New NATO, from Kosovo to Iraq to Libya, that didn't empower Islam further and send local Christians running for their lives. Kosovo is one of the worst, but it isn't alone.
