Why would you say that? Only because you’ve been brainwashed by Cain supporters on this forum.

Is it because you think he has no border plan?

Is it because of the ridiculous tuition accusation. Someone said last nite that over 20 states have a similar plan, many with less requirements than Texas.

Perry has had to actually deal with the problem of a porous border and a population that’s increasingly Mexican in the state.

He’s done a fabulous job of keeping the state conservative, advancing conservative values, creating a business friendly environment, keeping Texas free of state income tax, keeping our economy rolling well when other states are faltering.

I hope you will reconsider your unjustified prejudice against Perry on illegals. He’s walked the walk and done it well. This infighting here, particularly against Perry... really nasty... may well end up giving the nomination to Romney. We would almost deserve that.

Eleven years ago the Texas legislature voted almost unanimously to grant in-state tuition rates to children of illegals who met certain requirements. This was not free tuition nor was it cheap tuition (the vast majority taking advantage go to community colleges which are rather inexpensive) Perry couldn’t have blocked this legisation if he had wanted to, it was veto proof.

However, he, like most others, and like many other states felt that it would be a good thing overall.

It has nothing whatever to do with border security. It’s really opened my eyes to the visceral hatred that many on Free Republic have for Mexicans, legal and illegal, the attitude they have about Perry for this simple and relatively inexpensive concession to the children, whose parents have done something illegal, but they have not.

In terms of dollars and cents, it’s spit in the ocean.

Perry has a border plan. It’s no 9-9-9, let’s just build a fence plan. It is far more sophisticated. In case you didn’t know it, he even went to Israel to confer with experts there on protecting borders. (and he is a big supporter of Israel)

Rush said that he is probably the best hope to defeat Obama but some on this forum are so caught up in the Cain mania, they can’t focus on reality.

Cain could win, but it would be a long shot, and his fiscal ignorance was pretty apparent in the debate, as was his foreign policy smarts. But I won’t spend time criticizing Cain, as the Cain supporters seem to spend their lives criticizing Perry, as if that will help Cain.
