Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907
Theodore Roosevelt Speech in 1907 on Immigrants who come to America
| President Theodore Roosevelt
Posted on 10/17/2011 5:19:38 PM PDT by Iam1ru1-2
'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' --Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Barry will make sure this is shredded once he gets his “immigration” reform thing going. We can’t have these immigrants acting and talking like Americans, we need “diversity” and “multiculturalism”. How else are we going to destroy America?

Teddy had it right then and he's right today. Immigration has been a disaster since 1965 and the Immigration Reform Act. The 1965 IRA is the worst thing that ever happened to the United States and that includes the Civil War. It will the thing that eventually destroys the Republic. The Democrats passed it so that they could get a new influx of fresh Democratic Voters. Most people aren't even aware of how insidious this piece of legislation was.

Roosevelt stated the position of Americans of his time well (and my time). It’s too bad, that most of my fellow Americans currently active in politics don’t share that position.
Most politicos now want immigration to depend on materialism rather than assimilation and loyalty. Contemporary politicos speak their preferences for single immigrants with degrees, wealth, labor demand, etc., while rejecting all in favor of family and country.
We need the default process and collapse, until there is more respect for G-d, family and country. We’re spoiled rotten.

Never, ever use snopes as your reference. Use Truthorfiction website. Snopes is owned and operated by a couple in CA who are very liberal and a huge contributor to the demonrat party.
