Sorry, I don’t see this as a valid comparison to Vietnam. We lost there. In Iraq we have won. We got rid of Saddam, crushed Al Qaeda In Iraq, rebuilt the miltarty, and put a democratic government, however disfunctional, in place. We still have forces in Kuwait. Can’t we ever win one and go home?
Of course Bush did the heavy lifting, and Obama will take credit, but that’s the breaks.
Lost? As in lost the battle? No way, Jose. Lost the media war, thanks to commie lovers like Cronkite.
Nope. We had evicerated the North Vietnamese Army and virtually wiped out the Viet Cong. A remarkable accomplishment given the the insane ROE's we shackled our troops with. All we needed to do was provide a modicum of support to the South Vietnamese (just like we need to be doing in Iraq).
Democrats in Congress wouldn't even do that for our allies. Tens of thousands that suppoerted a free South Vietnam were slaughtered or imprisoned when the country was overrun. Maybe we'll see a replay in Iraq in a few years...
So you bought that Walter Cronkite BS too? We had that one won after the Tet Offensive. The NVA was preparing to surrender until General Cronkite decided that we lost.
This was in a day and time that the media was trusted and we only had the three networks.
Not actually. We won decisively in military action. The lying bastard Water Cronkite falsely reported that we lost, and the rest of the MSM (sole source of information then) played along.
Even the South Vietnamese did well at holding the line and forcing the North to retreat, UNTIL the DemoRat traitors in Congress cut off their funding and ammunition.
The Rats have been traitors since WWII.
We did not lose in Vietnam.
We signed a peace agreement and then pulled our troops out.
It was the refusal of the Democratic Congress, after Watergate, to honor our commitment to S.Vietnam when the Communists (surprise) broke the peace agreement.
Looks like we are doing the same thing here, just substitute Iraq for South Vietnam and Iran for North Vietnam.
In Iraq we have won.>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are right. George Bush liberated 57 million Iraqis fro tyranny. But thats the problem. Obama wants tyranny.
Obama plans to de-win in Iraq.No success of George Bush will be allowed to endure. And Obama intends to push the scions of the colonial era, British proxies in Obamas narrow nationalist socialist mind....The House of Saud into a corner and hang them.
