On Solyndra: President's Blackberry Off Limits

Washington (CNN) - Congress isn't getting a glimpse of what's on President Barack Obama's Blackberry - or any more internal White House communications related to the bankrupt solar company Solyndra, which received a $535 million loan guarantee from the federal government.

House Republicans investigating the loan controversy had requested all internal White House documents about the issue. House Energy and Commerce subcommittee chair Rep. Cliff Stearns said that includes emails on the President's Blackberry.

On Friday the White House Counsel sent a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee explaining they won't comply with the request because it "implicates longstanding and significant institutional Executive Branch confidentiality interests."

The response is hardly a surprise given past administrations' refusal to comply with similar congressional requests. The difference here? President Obama is the first Chief Executive to carry a Blackberry, so it's the first time a White House counsel has - even indirectly - turned down an attempt to peek at his email. Neither the Blackberry nor his personal email is explicitly mentioned in the letter.

Just get some teenager to hack the bloody thing and post it’s contents on the net.

Once it’s in the open, how it happens isn’t important.

This looks like a job for the Supreme Court . . . ala Watergate. I remember then that the President’s team thought that some things could not be turned over, and to their surprise . . .

Obama needs impeachment and removal. And then jail.

Yeah, Barry, tell me it’s the principle of the thing, but we all know it’s because there’s a HUGE amount of stuff you’re trying to hide.

Hmmm, well, then bring out the “army” who broke into Sarah Palin’s emails ... she was’t even president and we had to see all HER correspondence.

Belonging to a real old generation, I have no idea how Blackberries work - except in pies!

Can’t messages be deleted from them?

King Obama's army is in place and I would guess it is at least 1/3 of ignorant thug like Americans. He will never be overthrown.

A Republican President tried this, the pressure would rise exponentially. Every Democrat congressman would be calling for hearings, subpoenas, testimony. There would be leaks from within the executive branch. There would be calls for a special prosecutor, and one would be appointed within days. Getting that president’s Blackberry records would become the single most important issue in the land, and would stay in that position until the President relented or was overruled by the Supreme Court. Until that happened, every other news story would be wiped right off the airwaves.

You are correct, did it occur to anyone that we paid for the crackberry and it’s not his. I own a company Blackberry and they can have me turn it in at any time. The phone is not his personal property it belongs to the company that hired him; that’s us...hand it over BO!

“President’s Blackberry Off Limits...”

Hell, obuma doesn’t obey the law, so why should we? Send in the 101st Airborne without a search warrant and if we can’t find Buckwheat’s Blackberrry after they’re done searching, so what? We can all get tingles down the black panther’s legs.
