Panic! Obama Cancels Disastrous Itinerary, Aims for District with No GOP Challenger
— Scraps plans for stops in 4 contested races, finds one of only four with no Republican —
I think we know what that high-pitched shrieking sound coming from the Democrat headquarters was the other day.
That was the reaction of Sens. Edd Houck, Roscoe Reynolds, John Miller and Del. Ward Armstrong when they found out that President Obama was headed to their districts for a visit.
Initial reports showed the President coming to Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Danville, and Newport News.
But after an apparent freak-out by the candidates and state party - maybe over Obama’s dismal Virginia numbers in the new Qunnipiac University poll - the President has kindly changed his plans - and is holding events only in districts where his massive unpopularity can’t damage fellow Democrats.
The new bus tour: An event in Emporia, the district of Sen. Louise Lucas - one of only four where there’s no GOP challenger.
Let’s look at some statistics. Republicans have candidates in 36 of 40 Senate Districts. Democrats have candidates in just 28. What are the odds that President Obama’s team just happened to pick 1 of 4 out of the entire Commonwealth, where there’s no Republican on the ballot?
Prediction:
Wednesday’s events will be held only in some combination of the following districts:
* Sen. Henry Marsh, in Richmond
* Sen. Donald McEachin, around Richmond.
* Sen. Yvonne Miller, around Chesapeake.
Why? They’re the only three other Democrats who don’t have a Republican challenger on the ballot.
Barack Obama: The Newest Member of the Puckett Caucus... because even he knows how toxic he is to Virginia Democrats!
Poor NC going to have to put up with Barry all through the election season. I doubt Obama would even drive through SC......Western NC is a great area it’s too bad that Asheville is hippy central for the region! Any Freepers going to organize? I might be able to drive up to Asheville as it’s only an hour away from me.
Are these the Canadian busses still?
I guess nobody on the Whitehouse staff has had the heart to tell Barry that his jobs bill got defeated by his own party in the Senate the other day. LOL!
President Barack Obama better take it easy in Emporia, I hear it’s a speed trap ;)
He will need to learn how to speak Tidewater English if he goes to Emporia or Hampton. I got stuck in South Hill one time, and I had trouble understanding anything anyone said. (And I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley).
Just another campaign trip called something else so the DNC doesn’t have to pay for it.
Corruption, thy name is Obama.
He should take the intercontinental bus route to join his family in Kenya.
I pity conservative employees and students at West Wilkes High School in Millers Creek.
