Outrageous! What that poor girl went through is abominable, yet she still stood up for her faith. She was raped and brutalized, and instead of these monsters being locked up, her family has to hide. The police/government is siding with the rapists and honoring their phony marriage certificate born out of lies, coersion, and torture. Why do we support Pakistan at all?

This kind of brutality against girls from minority communities have been going on for decades in Pakistan and organizations such as Human rights watch has rarely ever paid any attention. Girls from Christian, Hindu or Sikhs communities are considered “maal-e-ghaneemat” or war-trophies by Muslim men. Rape of minority girls is viewed as a legitimate way to convert people into Islam and so law enforcement authorities turn a blind eye to such crimes. Abduction, rape, forced conversion to Islam and forced marriage is a “halal” way to bring a minority “kuffar” woman into the fold of Islam and hence it is not considered as a crime.
