Two things to think about concerning purchases. First, the tax does not apply to used items. So if you bought a preowned home, I believe no tax.
Second, if all companies only have to pay 9% corporate tax the price of products will come down.
Also you're going to have more money in your pocket because instead of paying 20 or 25% income tax.

I don't think Herman has to worry about locking in the 999 - consumers/taxpayers will do that for him. Right now people don't realize how much they're paying in taxes because it's built into the price of the goods and services they buy. If Congress starts talking about raising the 9% sales tax or the 9% income tax, people will notice. They may even realize that raising the 9% corporate tax is going to affect the price they pay at the register. I think pressure from taxpayers is what will keep Congress in check.
