Superior piece of writing about the limitations of technological hope.

Steve Jobs turned Eve's apple, the symbol of fallen humankind, into a religious icon for true believers in technology. But can salvation be downloaded?stopped.reading.here.at.this.drivel.

I’m glad I didn’t waste two bucks on today’s Journal like I thought about doing, for one brief moment.

From what I have read, he idolized (for lack of a better word) the beatles and used the apple from their recording studio. In fact, I believe there were some lawsuits regarding that...IIRC

Did it tell you you had to purchase a paper in order to see the article? It showed me the whole article free.
Not that the conclusion would have been any more rousing than the opening, with its hope for such a rare hope inspiring person as Steve Jobs. There are in fact scads of such people, but few who have also been gifted with that kind of visible seat. Even the least of the upcoming presidential contenders against Obama is more reason for hope than Jobs.

Yeah. They got it wrong on the apple. Everyone who has followed Apple Co. knows it is from the apple that fell on Issac Newton. They even named a computer after Newton.
It's about thinking. Which is what brought Newton to believe the Law of gravity. If I remember right from school. Lol! Many Moons ago!

The bitten apple is after the Apple hit Newton under the tree, he took a bite of it. That is what the symbol is about.
Then he thought about why that happen. Thus the Law of gravity. It shows you how these reporters of today do not do there homework. He presumed it was from the biblical account of the apple by Adam and Eve.

I read this article on paper (how quaint!) this afternoon, and was impressed, knocked out even by its depth and balance. And this from a Christian writer about an atheist or maybe Buddhist businessman, WOW! And then I come here to read the one sentence illiterate vomit shots at it, and I want to give up and reach for my gun.

Apple paid Apple big bucks at the time for their right to use the trademark. However in retrospect it was small in comparison to how large Apple has grown today.

I was waiting for a mention of the “Rainbow” that mysteriously vanished from the logo..........

I think apples logo was referring to both the biblical forbidden fruit and newton. Also, the apple I sold for $666!Well IF Apple's logo was referring to the biblical so called forbidden fruit then it would have been called a "fig". There is NO hint or mention of anything 'apple' regarding the Garden Party!!!!!
