The Lord bless and keep you, and preserve you from EPA regulations, taxation, and all other enemies to the well-being of you and your family.

My brother is a dairy farmer, and the EPA and somatic-cell requirements right now - together with a brand new $3 million (before interest) school that will have about 40 students in it in about 10 years - are likely as not to put him and the other small farmers in his area out of business. It’s tough to be a little guy in a world where the people with big money can do whatever they want to little guys.

I will have the advantage that I am not looking to make a living at it. It is more a labor of love. Yes I will be selling dairy products and eggs up and down our valley here but I think that if I am lucky we’ll just make enough to break even.

I also am a prepper, and I see having a fully functioning and self sufficient farm as being a necessity in the not-too-distant future.
