These idiots need to understand that life is dangerous, whether you are 6 or 60. If they get away with this they will kill the family farm. Maybe that is their goal.
This is part of a planned attack (my opinion only) on small farms.
A large agra-business managing thousands of acres can afford to hire help and pay benefits for same. Not so for a family farm.
This is no differant than the new requirements from the NTSB stating all farm vehicle operators will be required to obtain CDL’s.
BTW; If a farm does not sell or transport any product across state lines, where does any federal group have the authority to come on the farm ?
I own a farm. I will have milk cows next year, probably in February, one month after the arrival of my SON.
He will be working the farm with his daddy as soon as he is big enough to move safely among the large animals.
We are going to start him in 4-H as young as possible starting with small animals and working his way up to cattle.

Obama seems to be targeting every possible group in the USA to alienate.
I grew up on a farm/ranch where it was expected the kids would be driving tractors by age 8 and big trucks by age 10.
I learned that work would not kill a person by doing those tasks.
Obama wants to make kids afraid of work so he can distribute wealth to these future non-performers.
From what I understand, there are far fewer injuries to kids on farms than there are injuries from kids on their skate boards or bikes.
Leave the farmers alone.
Maybe with 9.1% unemployment, the DOL could restrict workers to AMERICAN CITIZENS?!?!?!??!

For crying out loud, I started working around farms when I was 11 years old. While I was never a farmer, I liked it and my parents wanted all 6 of us to learn work ethics and the value of hard work. I wanted to earn a little cash. We were dirt poor and we needed the extra cash. We NEVER took government handouts.
Heck, my brother and I used to buck hay... we would set the hook under the back bumper of the truck and the driver would drag us across the fields to the next group of bales. I would get a hay rash and beat up a bit, but it was fun and guess what—I am still alive!!
I had my son and daughter out doing the same kind of things when they were young.... I wasn’t poor, but I wanted them to learn the same things and to stay busy.
My kids didn’t get into trouble with the law, (I was a cop, I would have killed them—or so they thought. LOL) and they were never dopers.... they were kept too busy to get involved in that garbage.
