Are you ready for some football? Hank Williams Jr. isn't anymore.

The country singer and ESPN each took credit for the decision Thursday morning to ax his classic intro to "Monday Night Football."

From what I read he did not call Obama “Hitler”.

Conservatives need not apply now that we have the leftist revolution.

I wish he wouldn’t have apologized.

And this is going to cost them some viewers

I’m very conflicted on this. On the one hand he didn’t REALLY compare Obama to Hitler and getting rid of him over this is stupid. On the other hand I’ve LOATHED the “Are You Ready for Some Football” junk since day 1 and really won’t miss it. Right results, wrong reason.

Freedom of sreech only works for libtards I guess.

This is a chance for conservatives. Switch off your tvs Monday nights and hit the radio.

Monday night football is not available to me anymore since the government shut down reception with their HDTV. I used to get stations several states away. Now I can only get one station with the set top box and they don't carry my team. College games are now on inaccessible channels.

Rush, now Williams Jr. It appears ABC has a real problem with conservatives being on MNF. Or at least conservatives who speak their own mind.

Poor excuse for budget cuts as a result of failing “news” venue.

Would ESPN dump him if he’d referred to President Bush as Hitler? I think not.

“Freedom of sreech only works for libtards I guess.”

I listened to a clip, and couldn’t believe they were raking him over the coals for that statement.

He isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, especially with his “Three Stooges” comment after naming two people, but the point is, he did not in any way compare Obama to Hitler.

He compared to the disparity to Obama and Boehner to the disparity between Hitler and Netanyahu. Truthfully, I wish there WAS that gulf of disparity between Obama and Boehner.

And I also agree with the other poster: I was irritated as hell when Joe Wilson apologized for his “You Lie!” statement, and I was pissed when Perry went wobbly on his “Ponzi Scheme” statement, and I feel the same way about this. He had nothing to apologize for, in my opinion, other than choosing to use Hitler in the same sentence as Obama, which sets off liberal alarms.

While I’m disappointed to see Hank Williams, Jr. follow in the footsteps of Jimmy ‘The Greek’ Snyder, I do fondly remember and prefer the MNF introductions prior to the HWJr era. They used to have a majestic Roman Gladiatorial feel that seemed more appropriate to the Game of Football (I’m thinking George Carlin here), than the country yahoo sound of Williams. Actually, I also preferred Pink’s cover of the Joan Jett piece (Waiting All Day for Sunday Night), on SNF to HWJr’s intro.

Correction: ESPN, not ABC.

ABC is nothing but another CBS. Network TV is totally worthless, MNF included. Think I’ll use Monday nites to rearrange my tackle box - again.

He says it’s his choice. So it’s his right to take his song elsewhere. Maybe there is another Monday night show he can sell it to?

Monday night the game was on and I told my husband what ESPN had done and the whole story.
He grabbed the remote and turned to FoxNews. Said we won’t be watching Monday Night football anymore.

I admire a man who stand up for his beliefs and as proud to be married to such a man.

I haven’t seen a Monday Night Football game in years. I used to be an ardent Los Angeles Rams fan, but since LA no longer has a team—and I hope it never gets another—I have no interest in the NFL.

Go, Trojans!
