Republican lawmakers are demanding a special counsel to investigate the Obama Administration's "Operation Fast and Furious" snafu. Newly released documents appear to strongly suggest Attorney General Eric Holder committed perjury when he testified under oath that the was initiated almost a year before he told Congress that he became aware of the rogue operation over the Summer.
In an official letter to Holder on Monday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), requested a special counsel be appointed to investigate all aspects of the ATF operation including the names of those who gave the orders to allow weapons to be smuggled into Mexico.

Callers are claiming that "earlier administrations" started it -- the couple of callers I've heard avoided saying the B-word (Bush) -- just "earlier administrations."
Here's the deal. Holder is hiding something but it's the highly classified long-standing U.S. government policy of supporting one of the two major cartels. "Earlier administrations" have done that over and over in many countries, you see.
The two major cartels are the "hyper-violent Zetas and drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman's Sinaloa cartel[s]."
The U.S. government is backing Sinaloa and giving them full support, weapons and all. It's a civil war in the view of "earlier administrations."
So you see, the Obama / Holder Department of Just Us is just protecting Bush.. I mean earlier administrations.
The next round of callers will say: Both Obama and Holder were livid when they learned about the Bu.. er. I mean "earlier administration" horrible policy and have been working without rest for almost three years to stop it all the while protecting national security.
That last paragraph is my guess of what is the next thing to be "revealed" about these goings on.
.. if this story is B.S. and it fails the Obama people still have Plan C: start screaming "Racism!"
Watergate didn’t end up in 200 deaths, right? This thing is huge but Team Obama is counting on their mainstream media buddies to bury this.
I don’t buy the first paragraph of the article. “Snafu”? “Rogue operation”??? They are acting like this was some sort of bug, not a feature. This program was designed to make the case for gun restrictions in the US. Incremental gun snatching. The totalitarian impulse is STRONG with Team Obama but they need to prevent people from fighting back.
My prediction: Obama toughs it out by blowing it off. He’ll say this is overblown, and a Special Prosecutor isn’t necessary. That will put the ball back in Congress’ court, and if they push it further, he’ll yell partisan politics and play the race card.
