You guys are nuts, if someone is crossing the river with drugs and border patrol won’t do anything about it, certainly Texas can arrest them, give them in-state tuition and welfare.

I’ll continue going after Perry and when the next presidential hopeful is first in the polls, I’ll look at his record and act accordingly.

The biggest tool a state has is E-Verify, and Perry won’t use it, doesn’t like it, won’t even use it for state employees.

"You guys are nuts..."

Thanks for your response.

Can I make a suggestion? Just because someone has a different opinion than you hold doesn't make them "nuts".

Your opinion is yours. Theirs is theirs.

BTW...have you read the report and are you prepared to discuss the particulars of it? Because if you have, I think you'll have a difficult time making a case that any other candidate has more experience with the border problem than Mr. Perry.

And what, in particular and specifically, would you do differently than is presented in the report?

[You do know that Perry uses a system that is better than E-Verify for govt. employees, right? You're at least THAT well read? Or did you not know that and just now learned it?]

(in the letter you reference to)

Although we do not necessarily hold you completely responsible for the inexcusable actions of the House and Senate members during the regular and special sessions

He did not "allow" those bills to not be passed by the Texas Legislature. The lobbyist got to the legislature.

Perry "gets it". And The Tea Party you reference said they do not hold him responsible for the inexcusable actions of the Tx Legislature.

Perry put the bills back on the table in the special session and they still would not pass it.

But those laws have to do with the illegals that are here not with the securing of the border.

Perry wants to secure the border and get tough with the drug cartels and criminals coming in.

As President he can get this done and will not need Congress to do it as Chief Executive Officer of the US Military Forces. And he can give the order to shoot! Which I have no doubt he will.

I can’t read PDF files, it will corrupt the software I need.

I have been reading all the Perry posts for the last week. I’m sorry but I don’t know what Texas has that is better than E-Verify, please explain.

I do know that most of the jobs that Perry touts are given to illegals, and I do know that Perry’s biometric identification plan is to facilitate the cross border flow. Then I read that Perry wants to put Americans in the Mexican drug fight. let us go on from there.

Bookmarked. I want to dig in to this report when I’ve got some time to do it justice.

Thank you for posting it, it reinforces my support for Governor Perry.

I’m not surprised that only a few anti-Perry types have showed up here, their smears wither pretty quickly when faced with cold hard fact.

He did not "allow" those bills to not be passed by the Texas Legislature. The lobbyist got to the legislature.

I never said that Perry allowed those bills to die in the legislature. That's not in his purview, as Governor. What I said, is that he allowed them to die without comment.

As Governor of the state, he wields a tremendous amount of influence over state politics. He failed to use the bully pulpit of his office to denounce the legislature for playing procedural games with bills that the people of Texas expected to be passed.

In my mind, that makes him complicit in the effort to quash any legislation that would deal an effective blow against illegal immigration.

Perry put the bills back on the table in the special session and they still would not pass it.

Again, that's not possible. He's got no say in what legislation the House and Senate take up, although he could use the power of his office to demand they send him the sort of legislation the people want.

I'm sorry, but in the ten years that Perry's been Governor, I have never seen him use the power of that office to demand the implementation of effective controls on the illegal invasion. Instead of standing up for the interests and desires of the overwhelming majority of American citizens in his state, he's treated illegal immigration and invasion like a political issue, when it's one of sovereignty and survival.

This report is a cast-iron bitch for people who think Perry isn’t doing anything on the border.

No one on the stage has the experience or responsibility that he does to try to stop the incredible amount of effort spent by the bad guys to invade our state/country.

Well why wouldn’t they.

If bush were still Pres or another Repub, the media would be ALL over this report.

They WANT the soft on illegals smear to go on.

However, since that is falling apart. NOW PERRY is a RACIST.

OMG, THEY MUST REALLY BE AFRAID OF A PRESIDENT PERRY.

You got me wrong, I am not anti-Perry. My main focus is on illegal aliens. If Perry in fact does have something that is better than E-Verify that Chasaway refers to, I’ll join your side and promote the man. I am for America and no one else.

Until then, I will fight anyone that is for the United Nations and a one world order.

You see what a great executive Perry is by having two organizations commissioned who are retired Generals to make this kind of assessment. It is outstanding...and shows what Perry’s abilities truly are.

I didn’t mean to include you, and from your post I certainly think we share a common goal. Defense of American sovereignty. I hope you will learn more about Perry. I’m still learning, and although he has a few warts, there is a lot to like.

So tell me, what is there to like. As I see it, he is beholden to illegal aliens, giving them in-state tuition and welfare. He is against E-Verify and Chasaway has not expanded on his comment that Perry has a better way.

I live in Los Angeles and we are governed by a Mexican mayor. Our mayor hates Americans and that is how I see Perry.

I heard him comment on it many times.

He was very adamant that he wanted them to pass that bill.

The Governor is the ONLY person who can call the Texas Legislature into a special session.

He can call them into a special session as many times as he wants.

And during the special session the TX Legislature can only consider the bills put forth by the Governor and that is why saying he was complicit in the effort holds no water.
He did not have to put the Sanctuary City bill back on the table during the special he called.

Perry has done a lot to try to stem the illegal border activity. I totally disagree with you.

OK, I read it. What it tells me is that Michelle Bachman and Herman Cain have not sold out to the foreign nationals because they don’t live in a border state. Maybe that is the issue.

He mentions E-Verify but again does not expand on why it is a bad idea. I can’t figure it out, that is the biggest tool we have to prevent foreign nationals from moving into a state and again, Rick Perry is against it.

Which bill? The sanctuary cities bill? Big whoop.

What about all of the bills with real teeth that died without comment from Rick Perry? You know - the ones that would have started the illegals running for the border? Any border. Those bills.
