Mexican police have found five severed heads stuffed in a sack outside a primary school in the Pacific coast resort of Acapulco.

The gruesome discovery comes after drugs gangs threatened to attack elementary school teachers if they did not pay half their wages to the drugs cartels.

The extortion demands forced around 130 schools in the city to close earlier this month, after administrators and parents decided it was not safe enough to start classes.

Is there any way to stop the cartels? Sure doesn’t appear to be. They are winning.

. . . drugs gangs threatened to attack elementary school teachers if they did not pay half their wages to the drugs cartels.

The NEA and other Teacher's Unions are so envious. Their take is nowhere near half.

Google “Singapore drug policy” and “1960’s”.

Just ONE of these dropped on the cartel's compound. That should send a real message.

Not really, someone else will simply take over. There will be people supplying it as long as there’s a market for it.

Mexico is a third world hell hole....I wouldn’t go down there with anything less than an M-60 and some grenades! Does Mexico not have Teachers Union thugs?

True about demand and supply. However; they know where the compounds are. They know where these guys live. Two or three “Daisy Cutters” delivered from a stealth bomber would send the right message. The message is, “you may think its okay to sell drugs and you may get away with quite a bit...but you’ve gone way over the edge”. This is a message to all the cartels.

We all too often pussyfoot around with evil. Evil don’t care about conscience or morals so it needs to be eradicated. I have no problems in dropping one on these ba$ta&ds.

Washington keeps telling us we’re engaged in a `War on Terror.’
We have terrorists on our doorstep.
Why aren’t we taking the war to them/making them dead?

Well we’ve been doing that (and much more) in Afghanistan without making a dent in the opium supply, why do you think it would work in Mexico?

“Is there any way to stop the cartels? Sure doesn’t appear to be. They are winning.”

They are “winning” becuase we're not fighting a serious war. Same with the “war” on terror.

We have the means to eradicate the cartels, terrorists, and terror groups in a relatively short amount of time. Unfortunately we don't have the will to do what it takes to win.

Stupid, lazy and cowardly American illegal drug users are too stupid, lazy and chicken to change their reality so they take illegal drugs to ignore their reality for a few minutes and thereby fund some of the most vile and vicious criminals this world has ever seen. Here’s the way to solve the illegal drug problem......Hey! Illegal drug users! Get off your dead asses and change your reality! No money spent there.

We’ve done nothing but play political games in warfare over in Afghanistan. When you have to worry about colateral damage, political or otherwise, and forget the prospect of “unleashing hell” to complete and objective, you have already lost the war. This has been proven over and over since Korea.

Those poppy fields and their location are well known. You tell me why they are still producing?

I presume it’s because bombing the fields would send the nearby villages straight into the arms of the taliban/AQ.
