Only the Civil War series was great — the best television ever. And even it was marred by the constant drumbeat about slavery. Yes, the primary issue as to why The War of Northern Aggression was fought, but other reasons as well that resonate as loudly today — size/scope/reach of the Federal govt., states’ rights, individual freedom/responsibility/accountability.
I can do without the rest of Burns’ documentaries. Even they keep hammering on race — witness his stupid comments today.
