DEMING (AP) Four more suspected illegal immigrants have entered Deming aboard a Deming Public Schools bus. The incident occurred a week after a Mexican national was arrested for entering the country illegally and riding a school bus to town.
Deming Public School transportation office director Ray Trejo says once the four were in Deming, the school bus driver notified the school district which in turn notified the Deming Police Department.

So the school bus picks up non-resident kids at the border stop..plus illegals with fraudulent ID. Sounds like two independent problems. Kids living in Mexico..legal or otherwise..should not be attending Deming schools.
The illegals thought the bus was on it’s way to Texas so they could apply for their in-State Tuition.
I don’t know how that works — whether they are paying via a voucher system or whether NM residents are picking up the tab for them. For that matter some may be US citizens living in Mexico (Mom came across to give birth and then went home). You’re right — all types of issues to be sorted out
They don’t need to go to Texas for In-State tuition, New Mexico has it too, as does California, Kansas, New York, Illinois, Nebraska, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
Don’t be pointing out all those convienent pots calling the kettle black Perry smearers!
Another thing some never consider, why are the illegal students going to State schools.... because the Fed Gov demands the States give them free school same as any kid.
So the federal government demands that children who live in Mexico be given free schooling in the United States?
I’ve been at Las Palomas and watched 8 school buses come from Deming to drop off kids who cross the border. No checks happening there either. We’re hosed.
Court Treatment of Medical Repatriations: Montejo v. Martin Memorial and State Court Jurisdiction
The Florida Court of Appeals ruled on the legality of the lower courts order despite the fact that Mr. Jimenez was no longer in the United States.77 The appellate court dismissed the hospitals assertion of mootness because the matter was deemed an important issue that was likely to recur.78 Fur-ther, the court emphasized that the mootness argument, which focused on Mr. Jimenezs immigration status, only highlighted the legal precariousness of the repatriation.79 Deportations, the appellate court stated, are the realm of the federal government and not a matter within the discretion of state courts.80

They gotta skip Arizona - we don't put up with Amnesty-Lite.
You betcha! But I still believe that each state has the right to decide their own laws.
You explain it.
I don’t have a clue why a student residing in Mexico would be attending school in New Mexico. Maybe the parents pay the school, maybe NM and Mexico have some agreement because these particular students have no nearby Mexican school. I think there is many other examples just like this all along the border, those along the border often get along better than those living farther away from the border, see beneficial to both sides.
I can tell you that things are rarely if ever a clear black or white as we, not being personally affected, prefer.
Ping!
This is the case. There was a fuss about all the students coming across several years ago and the explanation was that they are U.S. citizens so they cannot be denied school. The schools win because they get federal money per student. Taxpayers lose because they pay to educate children whose parents are not paying taxes in the district...it is another border issue. In 1999 one of the students from Mexico actually shot a girl at the middle school and she died. It caused an uproar locally but nothing was changed. This was back when things that happened on the border were not reported and if you told people they didn't believe it.
