Hard to imagine a more minor and insignificant story from 9/11 to make a movie about.
Break out the kleenex, folks. I never knew this happened.
They evacuated 500,000 people in 9 hours, a greater boatlift that Dunkirk.
We live among heroes every day.........they just haven’t been called to it yet
bump
They evacuated 500,000 people in 9 hours, a greater boatlift that Dunkirk. And you think it's a "minor and insignificant story", You must have thought the Moon landings were a big YAWN also. You sir, are the minor and insignificant One
Makes me proud to be a New Yorker!
I just patched the link on an email and sent it out. Think it’ll get out there?
With all due respect to the boats (and their skippers) who made the 9-11 evacuation possible, the comparisons to Dunkirk are a bit exaggerated. The “Little Ships” of the Dunkirk fleet evacuated over 300,000 men, across 20+ miles of open sea, under near-constant attack from the Luftwaffe. Carrying 500,000 stranded office workers and commuters across the relatively calm waters of New York Harbor is impressive, but it’s not in the same league as Dunkirk.
Well deserved Robe!
The only the poundstone thinks is major and significant is his/hers Federal Pension. Just bring it up sometime. His self importance is right up there with Barry!
