El-erian is a smart dude. I think we are on the brink of a global depression which will lead to global war, either sparked by debt default, currency wars or trade wars. Expect more rioting globally. The 2012 prophesy may be really close.

I think they mean “crisis” in a different way than you guys do. Think fender bender vs freeway speed head on collission.

Regarding this whole financial/social crisis coming, I feel like a dog just before an earthquake.
The convergence of a one world government is upon us... all debts to be paid to a single entity, and if you can’t afford to pay, you will become an indentured slave for the sustenance you will need to stay alive. Be prepared to a mark (the mark of the Beast) in you hand or forehead, to show you are committed to the “preservation of humanity and the world”. All others will face annihilation... I believe in Jesus and the conventional Christian teaching of the end times, and of His imminent return; when exactly, no one knows. I will be among those who refuse the mark, should He not hasten His return.

IS that book worth reading???
Very much so, IMO. I wish I had read it years ago. It was published in 1997. It's a pretty academic read, meaning it's not entertaining, but is based on these guys research and studies of past cycles of history, and what one can expect as they project forward to the coming fourth turning of the current history cycle (which they anticipated to begin late last decade or early this decade).
I found it really fascinating to read . It explained a lot to me as to what makes certain generations behave as they do. In the end chapters they lay out a series of events they say are likely to trigger the fourth turning (crisis phase) of the current history cycle. The things they list as possible events causing crisis are astounding (IMO) as to how prescient they are. I could almost tick down the list they gave saying, yep, that's happened, and that's happened, etc.
IMHO, once you've read the book, you'll never look at history or different generations the same and you'll look towards the near future with increasing intrepedation as I currently do. What we will be facing will not be for the faint of heart. Hope this helps. - OB1
I read it at the time and thought it was fantastic. If anything, increased my diligence in properly raising our two members of the next “hero” generation that will save the world this time.
Am not familiar with it. Anywhere I can read a synopsis of it? Looks interesting.
I just read some of the reviews on Amazon. Chilling.
