Your forgetting that Buffett and Bill Gates along with a lot of other billionaires put their wealth in tax free trust funds. They still get to vote the stock , feel rich and it forever pays no taxes. If they want the rich to pay their fair share eliminate tax free trust retro active to Jan 1. To make matters worse Buffett has dozens of lawyers fighting the irs over a 1 billion tax bill the irs says he owes. He should be charged with lying to congress. He spends millions not to pay taxes and complains he dosent pay enough.

“Relax man, this is NOT going to pass the House or Senate!”

I agree, however I think it is very important that the democrats who vote against the bill are highlighted by all conservatives and conservative outlets. Obama and his media will try to blame the bill’s failure on Republicans. It will be important to continue to identify members of his own party who couldn’t stomach this debacle.

"“Why (would) the administration ... propose a Social Security payroll tax holiday in its jobs bill ... "

I think the Republicans need to jump all over this - everybody knows Social Security is going broke and the Obama answer is to reduce collection of Social Security taxes! We need to hit this hard and demonstrate to our seasoned citizens that Obama is going to take away their Social Security by bankrupting the system even more quickly. Remember the RATS scared senior citizens when Bush simply wanted to put part of the payroll tax in a private account to get more interest. Obama is doing this to reduce one of taxes "his people" actually pay.

Meantime, I believe I heard a figure that the top 1% of earners pay something like 30% of all income taxes collected. What's not fair about that? I think that what's not fair is that those earners are paying an unconscionable amount of the total income taxes collected. So , Mr. President, take your "fair share" and shove it!

Another proposal would charge $4 an acre on non-producing oil and gas leases on federal lands, raising $1 billion over a decade. The idea is to prod energy companies to get their leases into production or give them up and allow others to develop them.

So, on the one hand, so much regulation they cannot drill, and on the other, tax them for not drilling?? November, 2012 cannot come soon enough!!

***Air travelers, federal workers, military retirees, wealthier Medicare beneficiaries and people taking out new mortgages are among those who would pay more...***

Military retirees? They don’t get enough compensation, including respect, as it is. They stand in harms way on a daily basis, many times come home draped in a flag or maimed, so LEAVE THEM ALONE, O’SLAMMY!

The housing industry is in shambles, and they want to make it more expensive for the first time buyer? Nobody is that stupid.

I think the real nail in Zero’s coffin is when he announces NO COLA increase for a third year in a row for SS recipients. Inflation for August was 3.77. It has been inching up evey month this year.
I would almost be willing to bet on this one.

If he were serious he would be studying Paul Ryan’s plan. I find it reasonable and fair to everyone.
