This article is a couple of weeks old, but I didn't see it before, and apparently it is timely. Someone made an accusation on another thread that Perry's wife had something to do with abortions as a nurse. This is, of course, a malicious lie, but made me think this article might be needed. I just love the headline. As I have said before, I have known Rick and Nita Perry for over 30 years. They are good people. I KNOW Rick will never do anything to embarass us. It was nice to see him say as much. You won't ever hear that from a Democrat to a group of Christians.

I am sure the Dems are digging and the fact that they didn’t come up with anything, is a pretty good indication there is nothing to find. I am sure they were digging when he was running for TX governor too.

I think he is the real deal and what the country needs now.

Given the sheer number of things that embarass some people, I’m wondering how he can be sure of such a claim. I mean, lets face it, some people would be embarassed to be associated with him if they found out he made a typo!

That said, it will be interesting to see how well he backs that up.

Bush claimed there were no skeletons in his closet back in 2000 but the Dems held onto that DUI arrest until the final weekend before the election. If the Dems haven’t revealed any dirt yet iy doesn’t mean they don’t have any. Unlike Republicans, Democrats will keep quiet about opposition dirt until it is politically expedient to release it to their complicit media.

He is referring to his morality. He’s not a drinker, never did drugs, he’s had one girlfriend in his life — and he married her, he has never cheated on her, etc. He was a boyscout...and still is.

I was referring to the Reagan pro-life plank that has been in the GOP platform for the last twenty-seven years.

Not surprising, since Governor Perry is also unfamiliar with it as well, apparently. Or, he's simply ignoring it.

As to the rest of it, good for him. But I'd support someone who had had moral lapses but understood the first principles of the country before I would support someone like, say, Romney, who looks all squeaky clean but has a baby-killing, homosexual loving, gun-banning, socialist record on public policy.

Or someone like Perry who thinks states' rights trump the God-given, unalienable right to life of the individual person.

Almost half of Perry's mega-donors have received profitable favors from the Texas government, the Texas Residential Construction Commission (a favor to help Rick’ top contributor - homebuilder Bob Perry - avoid litigation, hundreds of thousands in travel - from the Rose Bowl and NCAA tournaments, hunting trips, Europe, gifts for Perry and his family, all because of Texas lack of ethics laws.

Nothing to see here ... move along.

Okay. You sit there on the sidelines, tangled helplessly in your ideology. In the meantime, the reasonable people among us (myself and Perry included), are going to get rid of abortion in this country. We’ll do it by giving the choice back to the states, then phasing it out state-by-state with a vote.
