If pass this bill is the phrase of the week for President Obama, not so fast is the phrase of choice for congressional Republicans.
As Obama touts the American Jobs Act as a fully paid for panacea for high unemployment and sluggish economic growth, his critics insist hes glossing over the fine print when it comes to adding to the deficit.
Given the depth of the economic crisis we now face the lack of fiscal detail that has been provided to Congress is both disappointing and irresponsible, wrote Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the Budget Committee, in a letter to Office of Management and Budget director Jack Lew earlier this week.
Sessions is demanding to see how the Obama administration arrived at the $447 billion price tag for the jobs bill, and back up for the claim that it would not add one cent to the national debt.

Gotta pass it before they can read it. That’s the dem way.
Herein lies the problem.
AMERICA, should demand to see the fine print IN IT'S ENTIRETY!
I”m not sure there even is a bill. Does it have a number yet?

And so the White Crib came to be haunted by the unspoken phrase:
There must be more money ! There must be more money !
The children could hear it at Christmas, when the expensive and splendid toys filled the nursery.
Behind the shining modern rocking-horse, behind the smart doll’s-house, a voice would start whispering:
“There must be more money ! There must be more money ! “
Get on your horse and ride, Zero.
Harry Reid has introduced S. 1549, Obama’s job bill, but there is no text, just a title. The bill appears to be an omnibus bill, made up of a lot of bills that were introduced in the Senate and have been sitting in committee, waiting for this time.
Obama has set up a “Heads, I win, tails, you lose scenario for the Republicans. The fact that the bill is a compilation allows Boehner to take up the bills separately and since the spending bills must be passed by the House, the Senate won’t even vote on their versions until they have received a vote in the House.
The main part of the bill is Patty Murray’s S.942, written to fund Gateway projects around the country, particularly the Gateway in WA State, that is being built by SSA, the company that employs Murray’s husband.
The big print is bad enough. The plan is just another attempt to screw the country with more taxing and spending.
Obama wants to pass the bill like he wants to pass his own gas.
OK, post of the day. Tea sprayed all over the floor on that one!
