by definition illegal aliens ARE the unskilled of the unskilled.

If they were skilled then they could LEGALLY apply for legal visas.

What Senor Rios is really trying to say is that his illegals will do a better job for less money than you gringos.

Actually there is some truth to that. I was in the construction business and the Mexican demo crews were known to be hard workers who didn't complain. Our company never took advantage of this since it's ILLEGAL but lots of competitors didn't let that stop them. Maybe they're still in business - unlike us.

“What Senor Rios is really trying to say is that his illegals will do a better job for less money than you gringos.”

Well, if you’re going to use the word “gringos,” I guess I can use the word “beaners.”

Let’s stipulate that he is right. Where does that leave us?

Mr. Rios is conspiring to violate US law by hiring border crashers.

Mr. Rios and others who hire border crashers are importing cheap labor to drive wages down.

Importing cheap labor to drive wages down—especially when they are already very low—is wrong from a utilitarian standpoint (look at what’s happened to the middle class), wrong from a natural law standpoint (a man has a right to just compensation for his labor), and is one of the four sins that cry out to Heaven for revenge: Defrauding laborers of their wages.

What is a just wage? Well, it may be hard to call the close ones, but when it’s over the centerfield fence, it’s pretty clear.

I would say a just wage would, at a minimum, allow a man to keep a roof over his head and food on the table. It would allow him to clothe his children—not in high fashion, but jeans, shirts, shoes and winter coats at least. The whole issue of medical costs is so out of whack, thanks to leftard meddling, that I don’t know what to say about that.

Whatever one may think about that, I think it’s pretty clear that a wage which doesn’t suffice to cover basic living expenses is suspect on its face, and the main reason that wages have been trending downward is the presence of 20 million or so border crashers and the unscrupulous criminals who hire them.
