They all make mistakes but this was an Obama-scale mistake: ignore the state legislature, appear to be acting on behalf of a staff lobbyist, and give a phony opt-out instead of an opt-in, as Bachmann suggested.

What legislation would be an opt-in besides not doing any legislation?
The vaccine already exists. It is relatively expensive. By requiring it is how we get insurance to pay for it.
Okay. In your opinion. Not mine. It was unfortunate that Perry chose the EO route and didn't go through the state legislature. He said that was a mistake and I take him at his word. I don't see crony capitalism, however, and the opt-out clause is just that.
As for Bachmann. I lost a great of respect for her last night. Didn't appreciate her canned answers and political stunts. She continued her attacks today with more speculation. Very unpresidential.
