Napolitano denies knowledge of Fast and Furious gun-tracking program

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told senators for the first time Tuesday that she had no knowledge of a botched federal gun-tracking program while it was ongoing.

In testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Napolitano said she was first made aware of the Fast and Furious operation after U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in the line of duty.

“Let me be very clear for the record, you were unfamiliar with Operation Fast and Furious while the operation was under way?” asked Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

“That is accurate,” Napolitano replied.

McCain gave her a weasel word to let her slide. “Unfamiliar” does not mean “I didn’t know it existed”. “Unfamiliar” can mean “I didn’t know how many guns”, or “I didn’t know who were the agents in charge in the field”, etc... Once again McCain helps his friends, the democrats.

I thought the purpose of Home Land Security was to be informed and coordinate all security and law enforcement agencies, insuring information was shared with and between such agencies.

So she is admitting she is a failure.

Holder has already lied under oath (perjury) about this operation...Janet going to join him? Wouldn't you think the DEA and HLS agencies would cross paths at some point? The DEA is huge as is HLS....maybe they need to be cut in half to make them more workable. Napolitano's veracity is always in question....
