He’s governor of a large state with a huge border. The state was overrun with illegals long before he became governor. He was correct in saying it’s the fed’s job to protect the border. He called for boots on the ground and air cover.

Correct. Although I’m not 100% in agreement with his stance on immigration, I realize that in a border state, a “deport ‘em all” mentality won’t get you elected dog catcher, even if a significant minority of that state believes that themselves.

And like under Obama and Bush before him, the boots will not be armed, nor will they be allowed to engage the illegal trespassers. The boots and the air cover will just observe, like the bobbies during the recent riots in London. To add icing to the cake, any member of the border patrol who dares do their job will be prosecuted.
