I read the article before seeing the pictures and I figured it would be similar to the Volt or Prius. Heck it looks like a modified motorcycle chassis with 4 wheels and a solid faring enclosing the cockpit.

So it has the crash proofing of a motorcycle, but lacks the latter maneuverability to avoid accidents. It is the worst of both worlds. Brought to you by the power of Centrally Planned Bureaucracy.
I never thought they could make the Trabant look good.
