I don't get it either. All I can guess at is that liberals/socialists/douchebags cannot muster up two things:
1) the nerve to face the truth about muslim hatred for America and
2) any overtly patriotic expressions toward America.
So by bagging up food for the poor, they do something positive to commemorate the day (in a big government socialism way) but don't have to soil their hands with the American flag or acknowledge that America has enemies. The whole "day of service" irritates me because it implies that we weren't "doing enough" before...and if we just do more "community activism" bad things like 9-11 won't happen anymore.
Oh, and FUBO.
