FULL TITLE: Muslim parents of 'honour killing victim' schoolgirl, 17, charged with her murder EIGHT years after she vanished
*Shafilea Ahmed was doing her A-levels and wanted to be a solicitor
*Her parents were remanded in custody today
The parents of suspected honour killing victim Shafilea Ahmed appeared in court today having been charged with her murder.
The decomposed remains of the Muslim teenager, 17, were discovered in Cumbria in February 2004 after she disappeared from her home in Warrington, Cheshire, in September 2003.
South Cumbria coroner Ian Smith later recorded a verdict of unlawful killing.
A pathologist stated she was likely to have been smothered or strangled.
Earlier today Cheshire Police announced that the teenager's father, Iftikhar, 51, and mother Farzana, 48, have been charged with murder. They later appeared at Halton Magistrates' Court, in Runcorn.
The couple have always denied any involvement in their daughter's death.
Shafilea was taking A-levels at sixth-form college and wanted to become a solicitor when she died. The couple appeared in the dock and spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.
The case was adjourned for a bail hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Friday where they will appear via video link.

Muslims who want to act like lowlife animals and kill their children over misplace pride, should stay in their creepy third world countries.
After 8 years, I wonder what remains were left to make such a determination? You would think all soft tissue would be totally decomposed!
I wonder what new evidence they found.
They should ALL stay in their creepy third world countries where they can “honor” kill to their souls’ delight.
Someone ratted them out maybe.
Give ‘em the strongest punishment that British law allows:
Two weeks probation.
Yeah another "honor killing
There is not a crime I would but past muslim sub humans including murder and cannibalism of their first born
They found her in Feb 2004, after she disappeared Sept 2003.
That sentence just doesn't read correctly ... a dead lawyer?
BLOODY SAVAGES!!

And why does it take 7 and 1/2 years to charge the parents for the murder???
Is this another example of European Incompetence that Obama is trying to emulate?
It would have been of tremendous help if it had been mentioned anywhere in the article *why* her parents had been and are now considered suspects.
(From a Channel 4 story) (This gets a LOT more complicated)

“The family also denied rumours that they had been trying to force Shafilea into an arranged marriage. It was alleged that she had rejected a suitor during a trip to Pakistan. During that trip, the teenager drank a large quantity of bleach and was hospitalised.”
“During their investigation into her death, Cheshire Police released several poems written by Shafilea, including one entitled I feel trapped. It also emerged that Shafilea had run away from the family home on previous occasions.”
“Last month it emerged that her youngster sister, Alisha, 22, was arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery at their family home. Three men broke into the house and tied up Mrs Ahmed and four of her adult children. Mr Ahmed was out of the house at the time. The thieves ransacked the house before fleeing with a quantity of cash and jewellery. Shortly afterwards, Alisha was arrested in connection with the incident. She was later bailed pending further inquiries.”
They found the body 5 months after she disappeared.
The article states that the younger sister got nabbed for armed robbery, pled guilty and has entered the witness protection program after handing her parents up.
What others teach, I also teach; that is: "A violent man will die a violent death!" This will be the essence of my teaching.

Sorry. I missed that.
What a charming family.

Just the thing that makes me think our British friends made a huge, huge mistake repealing the death penalty.
