Until about a year ago the wife and I didn’t wear a helmut then we came around a corner just after some assclown tried to pull a wheelie and crashed and split his head like a millon.
He died instantly. He’d just sold the bike and was riding it ,”one last time”.
His brains spilled out like a cracked egg.
Wear a helmut iven if in an area where not the law.
Honest.

I won't need convincing on that count. A helmet will be mandatory for any ride I go on, regardless of the state I'm riding in.

You probably should know I lost my dad on November 4, 2006 due to a single vehicle motorcycle accident while on his way to meet other riders going for a ride over to the CA coast. This was on his 2006 Goldwing Aspencade. We to this day do not know what caused the accident. The bike I'm buying belongs to my dad's best friend of more than 35 years. The two of them rode all over the states together.

One of my mom's brothers was involved in a motorcycle accident on Highway 299 many years ago. He was hit by a drunk illegal immigrant, who was arrested, but disappeared after bailing out. My uncle lost a leg from the knee down.

I'm not invincible, and I know the risks. I am fully prepared to ride as if every obstacle on or near the roadway is out to get me.
