According to the “Sacrement Bee” Kinde Durkee has been arrested for “mail fraud.”
Kinde Durkee, a self-professed professional of the campaign finance industry and leader of Durkee and Associates, is no stranger to campaign finance troubles.
A quick review of the FEC’s own web site reveals that at least 4 times in recent years, Ms. Durkee or her firm has been mentioned in Federal Election Commission publicly released articles because of campaign finance related problems.
1. MUR 5304, “Contributions in the name of another; use of state (non-federal) funds in connection with a federal election,”
2. MUR 6140, “The complaint alleged that the respondents violated the personal use provisions of the Act by using campaign funds to buy clothing for candidates.”
3. MUR 5418, “Excessive contributions,”
4. MUR 5569, “The complaint has multiple allegations of illegal contributions and expenditures and asserts. . .”
Issues that a true professional should have been able to steer their fee paying client away from.
So now this begs the questions, “Where was the FEC” and “How is it they failed to act more aggressively” in the prevention of these illegal acts?
Were any of Durkee’s clients, the federal campaign funds she served, ever audited? No? Then why not? It’s not like she wasn’t on anyone’s “radar.”
