This is not true. Perry has stated this was not true, and the Texas democrats who worked that campaign stated last week, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, that this was not true.

Notable & Quotable: Rick Perry defends support of Al Gore:...In an interview with Des Moines-based WHO radio on Monday, GOP presidential hopeful Rick Perry explained and defended some of his past positions, including his support for Al Gore’s failed presidential bid in 1988 for which he served as a state campaign coordinator:

Before you support a candidate, and before you post in support of him/her, you need to do your own research, otherwise, you look like either a campaign volunteer or a paid operative.

You said he was Gore’s campaign manager. I stated that was untrue. Then you posted some article saying he was Gore’s coordinator. Two different things there.

Actually, your original claim is not true, in that you claimed he was Gore’s campaign manager. You intended to imply that he was Gore’s number two and working on the national level by omitting the fact that Perry was Gore’s Texas campaign corrdinator.

So in a way, what you did was just as bad as lying. You purposefully (because this issue is all over FR, and there is no way anyone posting on Perry didnt know that he was Gore’s Texas campaigner) omitted facts in order to make a candidate you dont like look worse to people who are lurking around.
