Tired of hearing about McCain’s service. Fought in a war that was none of our business and no threat to us against a country that we now do business with. And he is a hero because he managed to get shot down and held prisoner.
I can’t stand John McCain, but I can candidly care less what he wrote for the Viet Cong.
In the IAF, we’re are under direct orders, if captured, to sign and say anything the enemy directs. I believe the USA has the same standing order, now.

AFAIK, and I know a bit on this subject, John McCain had nothing to do with the explosion except for parking his Skyhawk in the way of the Zuni missile. There is blame enough up and down the chain of command, but not for him. Some incredibly stupid things were done, including the use of superannuated ordnance, ignoring safety regs and the mistakes surviving crew members made after the first line fire fighters died. That last is why the Navy gives fire fighting training to every sailor. Most of us will never need it, but in case we do, we’ll have a pretty good idea of what to do.

He went from POW to traitor and enjoyed doing it, remember the Keating five, he was one of them.
McCain's Skyhawk was hit by the Zuni rocket that launched from the Phantom II, scheisskopf. There are plenty of reasons to loathe McCain but get your head out of your dirt chute, putz.
