Give Gene Sperling credit--he managed to keep a straight face. Sent out onto the White House lawn to explain away the horrendous jobs report showing that the economy created no new jobs in August, the director of the White House National Economic Council actually resorted to blaming the economy inherited from George W. Bush, then making the mind-boggling boast that the failed Obama stimulus program somehow made an 11-million job difference.
Sperling was speaking with Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post, guest hosting for Chuck Todd on MSNBC's Daily Rundown.

A person who routinely makes unverifiable claims using unquantifiable data and ambiguous language in order to avoid responsibility for bad outcomes would never make it in business. In government however, he can be President.

Tell me about it. I have a friend who is a staunch Obozo supporter. I engaged her in a discussion about his policies and got her to the point where she had nowhere to go other than agree with the point I was making. Her words: "That may be, but I don't believe it?" Unbelievable someone that stupid can even breathe without help.
Tell that to NASA and the car dealerships who had to go out of business ... all under Obama’s watch.

One woman I know (in the extended family) sat at a dinner table with me a few months ago and announced that she had heard obama speak that afternoon and agreed with everything he said. (She watches MSNBC faithfully.)
