P.S.

For example, when you try to connect to FREE REPUBLIC you probably pick it from your FAVORITES or BOOKMARKS (same thing, IE calls them favorites, Firefox calls them bookmarks).

That bookmark has a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) listed for the site FREE REPUBLIC that is actually “WWW.http://www.freerepublic.com/perl";.

BUT, to find Free Republic, out on the internet there is a bunch of large URL/IP libraries which take the URL and give back the NUMERIC ADDRESS (IP) which is what the internet uses to weave it’s way from your computer to FREE REPUBLIC’S Computer System(website).

IP’s look like this: 71.246.54.110

I.E. a DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM for computers. Instead of card catalogs and shelves, you have home computers, and websites.

Make Sense?

Make Sense?

It does. Thank you, but I don’t think I can figure out how to do it. So, if I have remarks to say they will just have to come and get me. But, thanks for taking the time to explain.
