American actress Daryl Hannah is arrested in front of the White House along with other environmental protesters opposing a planned oil pipeline from Canada to the US Gulf Coast.
Hannah was released after paying a $100 fine, following her arrest for failure to obey a lawful order, said US Park Police spokesman Sergeant David Schlosser.
More than 70 people were arrested in the Tar Sands Action protest on Tuesday, which is named after efforts to block the proposed Keystone XL pipeline project to bring oil sands petroleum from Canada to Texas refineries.

No it’s ok. Hannah lived with JFK Jr for several years. We should listen to her. She qualifies as an expert on lubricants.

If the website had a decent search engine this wouldn’t happen so often.
The comments I saw on this yesterday (other sites, and slightly liberal) were hysterical.
Things like, “OK I got the attention I wanted, now back on to the private plane.”
“She should be protesting her plastic surgeon.”
“Doesn’t she know where those silicone lips come from?”
And all sort of name calling in the hypocrite variety since she flew and drove to the event.

I don't have a problem with that. However, some people are smart enough to realize that electric vehicles aren't bringing their goods and services to market, or that Obama's energy policies (e.g., no offshore or deep water drilling) are a key factor in making the proposed pipeline necessary. The fact that Ms. Hannah can't get any press otherwise, perhaps all this to-do over a Hollywood airhead makes sense.
