no you don’t unless your want fertilized eggs. I did have a table top incubator for my pheasant eggs. Thats all the rooster is good for...

No, you need a rooster to fertilize the eggs if you want chicks. Otherwise you still get eggs but no chicks.

Um, no you don’t need a rooster to get eggs. I have six hens who give me 5 to 6 eggs every day with no rooster within 4 miles. However if I wanted to get FERTILIZED eggs, I would then need to go shopping for a rooster. It’s the old boy/girl, birds and bees thingy. I don’t want to raise chicks so I don’t have a roo around.
