In Grizzly country it’s best not to go out hiking without your HEAVY sidearm. Like .44Mag or better.
Advice from here in Wyoming (and in places like Alaska) on that .44 or other heavy sidearm: Make sure you file down the front sight.
Don’t you know that they have been “transporting” grizzlies into Yellowstone in an effort to restore a breeding population there? In a previous fatal case the hiker was blamed because he “ignored a sign” saying that a grizzly had been released in the area. In this case you’ll note that the hiker was on an approved trail. Of course guns are not allowed.
