I wonder if Harry Reid will attend and read some of his cowboy poetry.

The organizers say they reject consumerism but buying dope happens to be a consumer activity.

Is this a “rainbow family” ripoff or did they change their name? The “rainbows” get together once a year to copulate also.

I have some serious questions :

1. What is the carbon footprint of everyone who goes there? Did they buy carbon credits? What is the carbon footprint when they set the burning man statue on fire? Do they buy carbon credits to allow the burning man to burn?

2. Isn’t it bigoted against females to call it a burning man? Why is it a man and not a woman? Why isn’t it androgynous? What about the gay/lesbian/trans-whatever participants? Won’t they be offended if the generic human form is called a man??????

3. Who makes money from selling tickets to this? How much are they rejecting consumerist values and capitalism and all that, if they buy tickets, and then re-sell them on-line for big profits??????

4. Who cleans up all the trash left behind??? Is the ethos of self-reliance including cleaning up after yourself?

This looks like the right time and place to resume above-ground nuclear testing.

Answer 2.: It started out as a few guys burning a statue to release the whatever on the beach near San Francisco.

Answer 4.: The people that put on Burning Man clean up. They have VERY strict rules from the BLM about how clean it has to be; down to the last roach. A crew of about 20 stays the following week and cleans up.

Ah yes, rejecting consumerism on a $15 Million dollar plus budget.

50,000 tickets at an average $300 = $15,000,000
Plus Grant funding for “Art Installations”

Good old fashioned capitalism wrapped in new age whooee

Having actually attended one of these, I can report that it’s just an adult camping trip.

About as much sex, drugs, and alcohol as in most medium towns.

Very little nudity.

Very little drugs compared to alcohol.

Lots of middle-aged professional/business types.

My stupid nuveau-hippy oldest brother has owed me $500 for over a year and a half, yet he had enough money to chip in on getting an old school bus to renovate it and take it to Burning Man with some of his earthican buddies to dance around campfires and pretend to be... something last year. No idea if he’s going again this year. Don’t really care, I guess. Dude’s pushing 50 and is less mature now than he was in his 20s.

Harry Reid and other Democrats in Nevada plus some Rinos are still attempting to continue the scam to get us taxpayers to foot the bill of thousands of dollars per passenger to subsidize airline flights in Nevada.

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

The no-frills flight to and from Ely every afternoon saves more than 200 desolate miles and several hours of driving time for fliers on board. But American taxpayers have been footing most of the bill, up to $3,700 to subsidize each passenger who straps into a seat for the 75-minute trip.
