New Republican presidential frontrunner Rick Perry has in one shot managed to blast both the Obama and Bush administrations on national security policy. According to Perry, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who ran the Pentagon during both the final years of George W. Bush and the first years of Barack Obama, gave Communist China an alarming long-term military advantage by cancelling purchases of the new F-22 fighter.

“We made some huge errors in the course of the last three-to-five years from the standpoint of militarily not continuing to fund R&D with our military,” Perry charged during an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s talk radio program on Thursday. “For instance, we had a next-generation fighter aircraft that was on the books to be developed. And the then-secretary of Defense – through, I suppose, direction by this president, Obama – said, you know, we’re gonna cut back. And that’s gonna be one of the cutbacks.”

Our "leaders" also gave Red China practically our entire manufacturing and industrial base. In the 90's they moved fully equipped aircraft manufacturing factories to Red China, as exhaustively documented by Kenneth Timmerman in Selling Out America. Is President Ricardo going to bring those factories and jobs back to the US?

I have wondered where China also got the knowledge to build their new state of the are aircraft carrier. They never had this knowledge before.

I don’t necessarily believe in cycles, but this is looking more and more like a replay of the late 70’s and 1980. Just replace the F-22 with the B-1 bomber, and the Chinese fighters with the Russian Backfire bomber, and it reads practically the same.

I am currently working on a 10 reasons I like Rick Perry list. So far off the top of my head in no particular order, I have...

10. Has enforced the death penalty more than any other governor in history.

9. Skeptical about the global warming scam.

8. Calls for a full and open audit of the Federal Reserve.

7. Strong 2nd Amendment supporter, gun owner, and NRA member.

6. Signed a law forcing filers of lawsuits found frivolous by a judge to pay court and attorney costs.

5. Helped Texas to become ranked the most business friendly state in the country (California is dead last).

4. Half the jobs created recently in the entire USA were in Texas (see #5).

3. Supports building the F22.

Any other suggestions? (note to Perry bashers, please don't bombard me with the same old “Perry is an open borders RINO” crap).
