One only needs to look at Perry’s dismal record on tax increases and immigration to come to that conclusion.

Perry's first selections to the Texas Supreme Court was the appointment of Xavier Rodriguez to succeed Greg Abbott. Rodriguez was a self-proclaimed RINO leftist! Can We Trust Perry With The U.S. Supreme Court?

The record pretty good to me:

http://shapleigh.org/news/3317-texas-gov-rick-perry-signs-off-on-tax-cut-for-small-businesses

AUSTIN – Nearly 40,000 small businesses would see their state franchise taxes go away for at least the next two years – an average annual savings of $2,200 – under legislation Gov. Rick Perry approved Tuesday.

The tax cut that the Legislature passed last month exempts businesses with gross receipts of $300,000 to $1 million, yielding a total reduction for the state of $85 million next year and $87 million in 2011.

http://governor.state.tx.us/priorities/economy/tax_regulatory_reform/property_tax_reform/

Through Governor Perry’s leadership on property tax relief, homeowners and businesses have saved over $16.4 billion on school property taxes since 2006. Without the reforms passed in 2006, many property owners’ tax bills would be 33 percent higher. This has reduced the burden of school property taxes on families, allowing them to keep more of their money.
