PLANTATION— At the height of hurricane season, city officials are looking ahead to the holidays and putting their faith in something larger than snowmen, penguins and toy soldiers.

Since the Broward chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union complained – twice – about the city's "inappropriate" holiday display in Liberty Tree Park, city officials have been trying to avoid another December dilemma.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

Last time I checked, Plantation, Fla. is not the congress, but I do think they qualify for that "free exercise" thingy.

Put a statue up next to the scene of a Minute Man holding a sign, come and take it.

The lawyer’s admonition is priceless. Even though the display is constitutional they should remove it so that the purveyors of an unconstituional interpretion will be satisfied.

The simplest plan would be to tell the ACLU to go crap in their hats.

Good for them! It’s time for Conservatives to start calling the ACLU’s bluffs. If they threaten to sue, force them to do it. DON’T BACK DOWN!

The American Communists/Liars Union (ACLU) has NO power except that granted them by the weak. They are anti-Christian— and their charges have No basis in Constitutional fact. Had it not
been for LBJ- and a corrupt Congress —they would have NO power at all-and We the People -would not be funding their baseless legal cases. I don’t give a tinkers dam what the ACLU or any other domestic enemy says The First Amendments religion clause reads Congress( not Plantation or any other entity) shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion ,or prohibiting the FREE Exercise thereof” ; There is not diddly squat about some static display on or off government property such cannot constitute an establishment of religion. And Sandra Day O’Connor or that guy who dreamed up the stupid Lemon Test—and any other metaphysical refinement to the terms used are as unconstitutional as the crap spewed by the enemy in the ACLU that does not reflect the terms used or their meaning when adopted.
