First-grade thugs? Then again, if you've ever seen they way kids are "raised" in places like Patterson, it's not hard to believe. In every 'hood' I've ever seen (and I've seen quite a few) kids of all ages play in the streets passed midnight.

I've seen it in NJ--Irvington, Newark, East Orange. I've seen it in DC, Baltimore. It's actually quite bizarre for someone who's grown up in a normal, civilized area. It's an upside-down world they live in.

The culture is absolutely sick. What's sad is that there are a few nice, decent, churchgoing people mixed in here and there. Mostly from the older generation, before the 60s riots and all that. Seems chronic (no pun intended) at this point.
