I think they established pretty thoroughly that the maid was not a credible witness.
They need to nail him for a REAL crime, not for one he didn’t commit.

How much did she settle for? Of course they are not going to reveal any payoff...and likely she agreed to take the hits about her character. Money talks for all. In two weeks nobody will remember her name or care.
