While Qadafi has been a ruthless dictator, too many are not thinking of what comes next. Many of these rebels are allied with Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood may take power in Egypt.
While Obama praises the Arab Spring and says that democracy will take root and all that, it’s not clear what will happen in Libya after this.
Can I remind everyone that Castro overthrew a ruthless dictator in Cuba, and installed a communist dictatorship? Is Cuba really better off for the last 50+ years? What if Al Qaeda allies take control in Libya and Egypt?
I would caution everyone that we just don’t know yet what the final result of the Arab Spring will be in all of these countries. Obama has no clue. I’m sure he will claim that our role in Libya helped push out Qadafi. See if see still takes such credit a year from now, if an Al Qaeda outlaw government is in control of Libya in the future.
You are definitely on track. Remember speech in Cairo - hussein’s signal to the islamists to bring it on. Ignored the freedom revolution in Iran. arming the moslem brotherhood and al queda in Libya. Negotiating with the taliban. Omullah is a pan-islamist and a pan-leninist one world islamic order guy with community activist workers paradise plans.
Prediction: the new Ohopenchange jobs plan in Sept will be to create a very large and highly armed and empowered civilian security force, within the DHS. Hundreds of thousands of new security screener jobs, in every community. Cameras everywhere to make us safe from terrorism - see something say something enforcers. Illegal immigrants can serve as a path to citizenship. Enough highways already, politicians can only shake down so many highway contractors before they have to take matters forcibly in hand..

This will crystalize dictatorship for the USA.
Libya is more tribally oriented than, say, Egypt. This is, in my opinion, going to devolve into a tribal civil war.

There's a bigger picture out there, I fear.
It's not just Obama involved in this, it's his entire staff, advisers, state department and so on, along with similarly exalted muckity mucks of major European allies. Forget that they're socialists or whatever, they share a common interest in the outcome. What the hell are these people up to?
They must realize that the Muslim Brothers will seize control eventually. They seem to be gambling on the belief that the MBs talk a bigger game than they'll actually play. They seem to think they'll remember us fondly after they've gained power.
Is it more of their kumbaya romancing or something a little less rosy, grittier? Funny how this comes as our position on Israel has turned negative. I always wondered why anyone from our side would oppose the only free society in that region.
