It’s out there for the world to see. I happen to run across it on the world wide web. I am sure something will be made out of it...but hey, he is a Texan and loves his guns. I personally love that picture.
Re your #12 - Kinky received quite a few votes from conservatives when he ran against Rick (including mine). He is an honest man with a great sense of humor but much of the public perceives him sorta like Jesse Ventura.
He cuts to the chase. When he was running there was a perception he was against the death penalty, but when asked he stated that he wasn’t against it but that he had never seen or heard of a rich man being executed.
In the scheme of things, this quasi endorsement will likely never hit the national or Texas radar screen.
Waiting for them to trot out that video of the dragging death in Texas from 2004, how long do I have to wait?
There was a thread a day or two ago about the Hate Crime legislation Perry signed as a result of the James Byrd murder...... All things Perry are being drug out and will continue just as with any other candidate.
“The rhetoric will probably get heated. Im going to be outspoken, Im going to be passionate, Im going to be calling it like I see it, Perry told the Herald in a one-on-one interview, as he shrugged off Obamas recent scolding that he should be more careful about what he says.
And if I hurt the presidents feelings, well, with all due respect, I love my country and I love future generations more than I care about his feelings, the 61-year-old governor added.
Perry, who embraced the Tea Party even before GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, also brushed off Democratic attempts to paint him as a marginal candidate.”
By-the-by, are you now on board with Team Perry?
For now, on the left, see the boots (”manly foot wear” - lyrics to follow later).
Below the boots, it says “WINNER.”
I hope that is not a Charlie Sheen bad omen...hah.
Hey, all I said was that I was not certain that an endorsement from the Kinkster was good for Mr. Perry.
How did you make the leap to suggesting that I hate homosexuals?
I voted for Kinky when he ran against Perry and am really impressed with his positive view of Perry. I still love Kinky...a truly decent man.
I am on Perry’s band wagon all the way to the white house.
We must effectively secure the border.
Then we must figure out how to deal with 30 million illegal aliens (by some estimates). There is no way we are going to round up and kick out that many people.
The kinkster is one great guy.
“Hey, thats not the .380 he used on that coyote.”
You didn’t think he has just one gun, did you? I’ll bet most Texans, if they have one gun at all, have several.
Kinky not a “selling point?”
I know I’m a real Texan when my comment to your post is:
It is a BIGTIME selling point in Texas!
Of course my response is glib, but part of the beauty of Texas is anyone can appreciate Kinky. Besides the music, he is an author of some repute.
I haven’t read any of his books (shame on me), but I think they are detective novels.
Kinky is loved by Texans. He is a truly good man. Fun and funny, he is a straight shooter, just like Perry.
He helps run a place for abandoned and abused dogs. I think it is on his property. He is just real decent, there is no hate in him. If I recall right, when he was running for governor against Perry, he was against illegal immigration. Took more of a stand than Perry.
I voted for Kinky, too and I am a conservative. Kinky is decent, good and as you said ‘an honest man’. I am ready to support Perry for the white house!
Kinky is the one Texan I know who can actually out B.S. Rick Perry, and that’s saying something.
I think I understand what you are saying and it gives me some homework.
Where DOES hate the sin but love the sinner come from?
A Kinky Friedman endorsement could easily be in either the good news column or the bad news column.
LOL, but in all honestity it most likely won’t be noticed by many.
Here’s a few Kinky tidbits:
** In an August 23, 2007 interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and a February 10, 2009 interview with the Associated Press, Friedman stated that if he did run in 2010, he would run as a Democrat, citing that “God probably couldn’t have won as an independent” and that he was a Democrat all his life.
** On April 14, 2009, Friedman announced in an email to supporters that he intended to make a second gubernatorial run, this time as a Democrat.
** Friedman announced on December 14, 2009, that he was leaving the gubernatorial race and would instead seek the Democratic nomination for Texas Agriculture Commissioner in 2010, but lost the nomination to rancher Hank Gilbert in the state’s primary on March 2, 2010.
**According to his official Web site, Friedman’s answer to the question “How does Kinky feel about abortion?” is “Kinky believes in a woman’s right to choose.” In person, he hedges his bet, saying “I’m not pro-life, and I’m not pro-choice. I’m pro-football.”
**On social issues he has supported gay marriage, answering an Associated Press reporter’s question on the subject on Feb. 3, 2005, “I support gay marriage. I believe they have a right to be as miserable as the rest of us.” (Friedman himself has never been married.)

Of course I didn’t think he had just one gun. It was a joke but apparently not very funny. And yes I am a Texan that owns quite a few guns.
Just sayin'.
Celebrating a UT beats Oklahoma game?
Nope! I am solidly with Governor Sarah Palin! She's running and my prayers, money and hard work all belong to her until the Marathon primaries decide our nominee, which I will continue to pray and hope ends up being her!
I want to be open to whomever wins, provided that person is A FULLY VETTTED, TEA PARTY CREDENTIALED NOMINEE!!
