Umm, that's taxpayer money... OUR money. I'd rather those who wronged the family are arrested, fired, and have to personally pay the family. Punishing taxpayers for the wrongs of out-of-control police, teachers, politicians, etc is really highly counter-productive... and yet another example of how unions are highly vested in keeping America weak, unproductive, unsafe, and inefficient.
