I don’t understand her objection. Did Morgan not let her talk about her book at all during the course of the interview? Or is she just really, really opposed to talking about gay marriage for whatever reason? Unless there’s an agreement before the show that certain topics are off-limits, the host is usually free to ask anything he/she wants. Palin just did an hour of questions with reporters last week at the Iowa state fair and didn’t rule any subject out of bounds, even though she’s not running for anything right now either. Very strange.
CNN, as you might expect, is milking it for all it’s worth.

She indicates that she discusses her views on gay marriage in her book, she says she wants to discuss the content of her book, she refuses to talk about her stance on gay marriage...weak. I don’t think he was being rude—obstinate, maybe, but not rude or disrespectful.

She walked off because they Piers asked her her view on gay marriage. She said I did not come to talk about that and walked off. Welcome to the big leagues put on your big girl panties and answer the question especially when you are selling your book.
What is the profile of someone who buys her book? Seriously. She is a publicity-seeker, nothing more and nothing less. Running for office is just the latest phase of her publicity seeking. Before that, it was going on Maher’s show and making outrageous statements about witch craft. The whole “I’m not a witch” line misses the point. The real point is she went on Maher’s show and said it to gain attention. Now she writes a book. Then walks off the stage in an interview. Publicity-seeking is the thread that runs through all of this. She wants to be important and to get attention. Her time is up and she needs to get off the stage.
All that being said, I do think she WAS weird in this interview and the questions asked of her were not off limits, especially if she states her opinions in her book. She just did her book sales a real negative and perhaps any future hopes for political office were also damaged with this poor interview handling.
The media invited her to that stage. As long as they give her invites she’ll stick around.
I’m not going to watch it because I don’t like her. I only supported her to stop Castle but didn’t think she was a great candidate and wasn’t sad she lost. I got what I wanted. Another establishment liberal hack of a Republican out of the US Senate

I agree completely re: not being a fan of Piers (never watched his show) and the lack of support for O’Donnell.
But...I also agree she might have hurt herself. I heard her in a radio interview. Her thoughts were very disheveled...and carried forward to her speech pattern.
He’s a flaming English dink. You know he wanted to get into relative techniques and methods.
didn’t see it... in my opinion, more conservatives should be walking off those shows... ‘s OK if you don’t like her, I think every post up to now has voiced that opinion of her. I think she’s got verve and has been plenty open as to what she believes... my bet is that certain things were agreed to at the start, and Morgan crossed the line, probably to see what she’d do, or even to hamper her book sales... screw Morgan, no matter who shows up, or walks off.

Not being from DE I didn’t care. She was interviewed by mark Levin on his show yesterday . I actually was surprised by her, she gave an excellent interview.

Uh, I watched the clip. I think COD was giving Piers a lot of leash...and he insisted on continuing to bait her.
He asked about Michele Bachmann’s stance on DOMA. COD said she wasn’t there to talk about MB’s stand on DOMA.
COD said she was there to talk about her book and the fiscal policies it promoted...but Piers continued to ask about the gay marriage issue.
COD said she wasn’t running for office, it wasn’t an issue she was interested in discussing.
I guaran-damn-tee you if there were an entertainer there who insisted on rules for an interview, CNN would sure as hell abide by them.
Piers insisted that he WAS talking about things in the book...but COD said she referred to her religious beliefs and NOT the gay marriage stuff.
COD hung in there for a while, and finally told Piers she wasn’t going to be treated rudely.
I don’t think she came off as nasty or stupid at all—she was trying to say, with a smiling face, that she wasn’t going to be drawn into an issue unrelated to her purpose.
She came out the winner—Piers came off as a snot.

As Dennis Prager often says.....nobody, and I mean nobody, has a great sense of self worth, self esteem, self goodness, self wisdom....and now self charm, as those on the LEFT. They are narcissists through and through.

I also have to say that it’s rare to find a conservative who can articulate a good reason not to permit same sex marriage. Using the Bible or God don’t fly with the LEFT and that is why I think Dennis Prager is the best I have heard.
He’s spot on when he says things like No great moral thinker “religious or NON religious” has ever advocated anything other than marriage between male and female.
And that this is not a civil rights or equality case because male and female are different. White people and black people aren’t. A white man and black man are equal, are the same. Male and Female are not.
But the LEFT agenda is to obliterate the differences between male and female. So when a boy wins homecoming queen at a high school, the LEFT says...”yes, this is good!”....while the girls who wanted to win go home wondering what the hell just happened.
And that Sexuality is a timebomb we are messing with, ESPECIALLY with little girls who will be taught in school by LEFT wing teachers and text books that for her to marry another female is just as normal as to marry a male.
Sexuality in males is not as complicated, ask a little boy if he’s going to marry another boy....he laughs at you. Ask a little girl if she’s going to marry a girl she’s confused, and doesn’t know how to react.
Already in a school in Los Angeles has notified parents they will no longer teach that marriage between male and female is the norm. And already there is a suit to allow polygamy on the same grounds as same sex.
As with everything the LEFT bases it’s values on “feelings”.they “emote” and the heart wants to allow same sex marriage.
But the LEFT doesn’t think things through, how this impacts children, and finally......a simple question to the LEFT wing like Piers.....”If you had children and something happened to you, would you want them to be raised by a couple in a male female marriage as parents....or a couple in same sex marriage?.”.......And why?
Very few conservatives that I see can articulate these arguments to the LEFT on this issue. In fact, I have seen none other than a Dennis Prager.

She was on the show to talk about fiscal policies and the Tea Party and her book, not gay marriage. She did not write a book on “Whither, Gay Marriage?”
Why do talk show hosts always want to talk about gay marriage?

Christine could see, in fact Ray Charles could see where this interview was heading.
She, nor any conservative, does not have to sit through hosts goign off on rabbit trails, as topics were probably already defined beforehand.
Good for her. She’s on there to sell books. Her handler probably saw that only ten people nationwide were watching this show, including the people in the control room.
Piers just doesn’t like getting the tables turned on him.
Libs and Dems can be obnoxious, but somehow conservatives are just supposed to sit and take it. She told Piers the topic was not one she wanted to spend time on, as it was not important. He would not “move on”, so she left.
If Ann Coulter did that, people would be standing up and applauding.

But, back in 2008, we were assured by the True Believers that she was the one that "liberals feared".
This is why I am so opposed to the unquestioning adoration of obviously unelectable candidates, even if they are pretty with great legs. It just puts Left-wingers in Congress and in the White house.
Having watched it, I’m surprised at all the praise I recall hearing about Piers being a great interviewer. Maybe he’s still settling into the job. Any, I don’t think he was being rude to ask about something he read about in her book- if in fact he did read it and she did write about it. He was kind enough to say that it was a good book and told viewers were they could purchase it.
In the ‘60s of my youth it was considered a badge of honor to walk off a tv show when the host or fellow guests got rude or inconsiderate. It was soooooo fun to watch a star rip off the microphone, throw it on the table and stalk off the stage. Jack Paar practically had a guest walk off every night. I can remember when Lily Tomlin almost never made it past the intro, lol!
Times have changed and now stupid guests sit there and take it and it’s considered “brave” somehow. The last person to walk off the set was the late, great Bob Novak on some stupid show with James Carville.

He is an awful person IMHO. However, he has been interviewing for 25 years and never had anyone walk off his stage during an interview. Being that she is the only one and he asked a reasonable question, she is 100 percent at fault on this one.
Woopie and that other chick walked off the View with McCain or someone and everyone here thought it was just horrible.
