Some Republicans, including state GOP chairman Tony Sutton, were hoping Pawlenty would get right back into the ring and take on freshman Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar next year.
"I don't know what I will be doing next," Pawlenty said in an email to The Associated Press. "However, I will not be running against Amy in 2012."

Word is that Pawlenty wants to take out Dayton in 2014 and Norm Coleman wants a rerun against Franken.
Pawlenty won’t be VP with Perry or Romney. Minnesota just isn’t in play, and notwithstanding his many attributes, Pawlenty proved he cannot carry water outside of Minnesota.
Kasich or Portman is a good vp possibility with Perry. He needs someone experienced and from the north.
Romney would choose Rubio as vp. He needs Hispanic voters and shore up his right flank.
Perry and Romney have opposite needs in their vp selection.
